Absolutely! In the Netherlands there are laws which are meant to counter false self-employment, where someone is an independent contractor on paper but in reality is treated as an employee. The independence of a contractor is assessed by examining the nature of the work, whether there is a relationship of authority, and the degree of embedding in your organization. Due to my independent role and the specific expertise in the field of Docker that I bring, it is highly unlikely that the Belastingdienst (Tax Administration) or a judge will consider our collaboration as employment.
